4 - 90minute sessions $65.00

Knitting 101

Introduction to knitting where you’ll learn to knit, purl, join new yarn, increase, decrease, bind off, fix common mistakes, read a pattern, understand gauge and the importance of knitting a swatch prior to beginning a project. You'll also learn five ways to cast on and the benefits of each method. Right and left handed knitters welcome.

3 - 90 minute sessions $50.00

Introduction to Crochet

Students will learn the basics of crochet: chain stitch, slip stitch, single, double, and half-double crochet while making a lovely evening bag. Crochet can add a beautiful finish to the edge of a sweater or shell. You don’t have to be proficient with knitting to take this class.

Socks Soar on Circular Needles

Socks are not as challenging as you think. You'll have a ton of fun knitting them with two circular needles. Mastering this technique will allow you to use it with a variety of projects such as hats, mittens, sleeves, and anything requiring a small number of stitches.

Baby Cable Ladies Socks

If you're not interested in socks on circular needles then try these beautiful socks on double pointed needles (DPNs) and add a twist of baby cable without the cable needle. You can use this sock class for your first pair of socks. Don't be afraid to work cables, DPNs, and socks at the same time.

Ponchos, Ponchos, Ponchos

Are you a new knitter? We have a lovely garter stitch poncho that is cozy and attractive. It's fun to knit and easy to stitch together. It's great for Mom's on the go or professional women who work in a cold office. Jazz it up with fringe made of novelty yarn or keep it subdued with a subtle contrasting yarn.

Ladies Felted Mittens

Here is a lovely project that looks great with your winter coat or a denim jacket. There are samples in the shop. You can knit them with a standard rib cuff or a jazzy fur cuff. You'll have so much fun knitting these mitts that you'll be stashing them away for holiday gift giving or surprise a friend on a cold day with something special she'll treasure forever! This is a great project that will aide in developing many skills.

Diagonal Sweater

We're using a variety of yarns to create the diagonal sweater. You're the designer. You can make it plain, jazzy, or fancy. Is there a color scheme that is attractive on you? Do you have any left over novelty yarn you don't know what to knit with next? Think about incorporating the yarns into a diagonal sweater and see a masterpiece emerge from your knitting needles. The class will be adequately spaced so that you will have a sufficient amount of time to complete the project. There is a sample on display in the shop.

Cable Cardigan/Pullover Sweater

Have you knitted dozens of scarves and feel ready for something with a bit of challenge? Learn to knit cables while working on this lovely sweater. You decide if you want it to be a cardigan or pullover. We're using a pattern from Yankee Knitter Designs. You'll learn to read the pattern, take measurements, knit a swatch to check your gauge, knit the sweater w/ cables and assemble it. The class will be adequately spaced so that you have plenty of time to work your project to completion. Visit the shop to see one in progress.

Knitting for Kids (9-13 years of age)

Today our children have very busy schedules. If you can gather together a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of (4) kids interested in learning to knit Lillie's Yarns will make the schedule work for you.

It is permissible for you to photocopy from YOUR book so that you can make notes and adjustments to the pattern you are working on.

Five Ways to Cast On

Learn five ways to cast on and the benefit/hazards of each method.

1 - 2 hour session $25.00

Fixing Mistakes

Repairing our knitting can be as daunting as learning to knit all over again. Learn some simple techniques to fix-it without ripping out and starting over.

Gauge Management

When you complete a project are you disappointed when it is too big or too small? Are you having difficulty knitting to gauge? Give Lillie's Yarns 2 hours of your time and you'll be a happier more confident knitter.

Pattern Study

Reading a pattern is like reading a map. Sometimes it can be a very confusing process. Once you understand the multitude of symbols and punctuation throughout your pattern you'll knit with more confidence.

Seams

Everybody hates seams! There's no need to fear this dreaded part of a garment. In this class you'll learn to sew seams quickly and easily. You'll need to knit 4 large swatches before coming to class.

Sweater Assembly

Do you have a sweater you're afraid to assemble? This class is designed just for you. You'll learn everything you'll need to put your sweater together beautifully.

1 - 3 hour session $35.00

Private Lessons

Are you having trouble with something that isn't covered in our class brochure? Is there a technique preventing you from moving forward with your knitting? Call Lillie's Yarns, we might be able to develop a class to meet your needs. Private lessons cannot be split into half hour segments.

1 hour $25.00

Class Information

Classes will be filled in order of registration.
Class supplies are sold separately.
All materials must be purchased at Lillie's Yarns.
Students can bring their own tools, such as knitting needles, sewing needles, row counters, etc.
It's a good idea to select your materials/colors prior to the first days of class. That way you won't lose valuable classroom discussion time.
Make up classes are available by appointment at an additional fee of $25.00 an hour.
No class refund ten (10) days prior to the beginning of class.
As a customer of Lillie's Yarns you are entitled to assistance with your projects. However, if you require extensive assistance it will be considered a lesson. Please be aware that some times a five (5) minute question can turn into a forty-five (45) minute explanation that includes a hands-on demonstration of a particular technique or fixing a mistake. Save your receipts and plan extra time if you need assistance.
